| This Scottish utility workroom has an informal 18th century country house charm |
We've been working on a kitchen design recently, that was inspired by some existing period furniture, found in adjacent rooms, and the home-owners desire to add elegance, and long term value to his home.
So, we threw out the “rule-book” and decided to open up the whole space, and treat it as an architecturally interesting living space: that just happened to be a working kitchen!...
We really enjoyed this particular design, as it gave us good reason to dig into the past. And as we have the luxury of Canadian designers, blended with a boatload of European experiences, it was inevitable that our research took us across “the pond”, to delve into the historical delights of France, England and Scotland!

We're yet to unveil the finished plans project to our customer, but we're sure he's going to love the under-played drama, the architectural solidity, and the wonderful blend of painted cabinetry, and wonderful wooden detailing. Not to mention the innovative use of space, and the clever integration of all the necessary equipment, that will turn a kitchen into a gentleman's haven of antique splendour: updated to meet the demands of this busy, and discerning international businessman!
