What turns "interior design", into a truly great interior?

Research, planning, and flair, mixed together with a good dose of care! You have to be effective at researching: finding out what makes your client tick, and what the space needs to deliver, all within the budget you've been given to work with. You have to understand what good space management is, and how to achieve it.
These are the main ingredients in the "dish called design". But, if you can't inject a certain “flair” into your work, it will never be classed as “great design”...

So where does “caring” come into the picture? Well, if you don't care about your client, however good the end result may be visually, it will miss the mark in your customers eyes, and that's definitely not “great design”. Because at the end of the day, designers should deliver, not only beautiful design, but design that works for you, the client.

But, as we all know, judging design is not an art that can be measured, in fact, it's impossible to measure! it's such a personal opinion. No one, but the owner of the space, can truly judge whether the design has been a success. But here follows my “Five important points”, against which I feel your design should be measured, judged even. And if it satisfies all 5 points, you truly have achieved, or been delivered, “great design”... So, to really knock the ball out of the design park, your design should:

  1. Match your needs in terms of function
  2. Reflect your personality
  3. Be adaptable: be easy to update in terms of current colour trends, and adaptable in use of space
  4. Delight and surprise you: by exceeding your expectations
  5. Represent a wise investment, in relation to the value of your property, and be within your financial reach
These are the guidelines that our designer follow, making sure we include all the right ingredients into our designs, to ensure our end product: your rooms, are the best they can be!
