Want to be a fly on our wall?

The past week has been pretty memorable for us as a family. From arriving in Montreal with a part-time husband (happily, only due to work commitments) and 3 boys (on an off-on basis) in August 2009, we found ourselves signing on the dotted line for a 2 story condo (a first for us) in the bustling heart of Montreal's canal area. Not the right moment (financially speaking) but a great buy in a spot we'd ear-marked as a "great to live in" area.

A real lifestyle area in fact, with kms of "off the road" bicycle tracks, little coffee shops and resto's just waiting to be discovered, a communal garden to die for, with no physical maintenance required (now that's a first!) and the old Atwater market just steps away.
Bliss for Europeans used to large family homes that came attached with a similar sized upkeep!
As idylic as our new home promises to be, there are of course "bits to do"...a kitchen to update, 2 bathrooms to "re-do" and of course a "personalization" of our home in terms of decoration, colours and furnishings, for each family member.

So I thought perhaps you'd like to follow our design thoughts, as we move through the descision making and installation? I'll be keeping you updated as we decide what to buy, what we'll keeping and what be'll be changing, and the thought process behind it all.
Keep "posted" as we take on our first personal renovation on this great North American continent!
